Our practice is made up of talented veterinary professionals who are passionate about animals and will take care of each pet as if it were their own. History
The first business on Baseline Road in Southwest Little Rock, Cloverdale Animal Hospital was started in 1962 by Dr. Arthur W. Gillum in a partnership with Dr. Darrel Wood and Dr. Jim VanPatter.
The initial 900 sq. ft. facility was modest; with a small reception area, 2 exam rooms, a small operating room, a pharmacy area and kennel. In 1974, Dr. Arthur Gillum was awarded Veterinarian of the Year. In 1978, the practice was expanded to a 3000 sq. ft facility in anticipation of Dr. Michael Gillum graduating from veterinary school at his father's alma mater, Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
Father and son practiced side by side until Arthur's retirement in 1994. Dr. Michael Gillum has continued practicing at Cloverdale Animal Hospital to the present day.
Cloverdale Animal Hospital has been a fixture in Southwest Little Rock for over 50 years. The doctors and staff of the hospital have all taken great pride in providing quality medical and surgical care for the pets of Little Rock. Dr. Gillum is a member of many local, state & national veterinary organizations.
